The band with jazz character gave the singer the perfect, harmonsiche accompaniment at the extensive repertoire ranging from jazz to rock in a stylish ambience of the selected venue ‘Guest work’, which gave the special atmosphere of the entire presentation. The jazz influences also their new CD ‘dream a Little Dream”, which they produced together with Till Bronner and recorded in the Studio. Helen Schneider takes the audience during the concert on a journey to their childhood. She remembers songs to the early days of her career.
Songs and music, who have stressed how they influenced their musical development. With each song she connects personal memories of special experiences of her life. There are of course well-known songs from the jazz and the best treasures from the ‘ great American Songbook’. You breathe just just yet sexy, quietly and carefully in the microwave and suddenly the alluring femme fatale turns into the ‘ Rock ‘ n roll Gipsy’ and brings the audience with terrific roaring voice to the Cook. You interpreted great songs by Bob Dylan ‘Just like a woman’ and ‘born in time’, Leonard Cohans ‘ by the rivers dark’ and Emmylou Harris’ anti war song ‘Bang The Drum Slowly’. By the personal relationships and experiences to each of these songs it makes the songs of others the their. To conclude, there was a homage to the large and well-known jazz singer Peggy Lee. As an Encore, she served of course upon request ‘ Rock ‘ n roll Gypsy’ and then a song from a somewhat ‘crazy German type on roller skates’, which at the time the late 1970s after a New York concert by the stain away engaged her for a tour of Germany, namely Udo Lindenberg. At that time he wrote more songs in English as ‘I’ d like to be a child again’, with this evening was the crowning. Udo Lindenberg, thank for this great discovery, he was brought to Germany. Helen Schneider, the woman with the exceptional voice so distinctive, that even with the booming rock still razor sharp appears, received for her appearance with her excellent band to law and a well deserved STANDING ovation.
